The United Arab Emirates: a first “meta-nation”? Make way for the Sharjahverse
It’s time for tourism 3.0 – The metaverse from the city Sharjah is an additional initiative that demonstrates the extent of the commitment of United Arab Emirates in the exploitation of these virtual universes with significant economic benefits.
The video gives a taste of it. In a communicated On October 10, the Multiverse Labs platform announced its collaboration with the Sharjah Trade and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) to launch the Sharjahverse tourism metaverse.
Thus, this virtual universe, built for the Emirate of Sharjah, is the first metaverse that will see the light of day “at the scale of a city”. It will thus cover 2,590 km². According to the CEO of Multiverse Labs, Cliff SzuSharjahverse would also be “the most realistic metaverse in the world”.

Sharjah is considered the cultural capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is the second most populous emirate, home to approximately 1.8 million people.
The Sharjahverse will have both economic and social utility:
- It will promote the Emirates in an original way to a global audience.
- He will create local jobs in the field of metaverse for the workers of Sharjah.
A virtual rival for the world’s largest economies
The Sharjahverse is therefore one of the concrete achievements that testify to the interest of the authorities of the United Arab Emirates in metaverse. It’s even a major economic issue.
During the Dubai Metaverse Assembly from September 28, Omar bin Sultan Al OlamaMinister of State for Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, then referred to the notion of gross metaverse product (PMB).
This PMB should be able to generate billions of dollars in revenue for Dubai, without people being required to be physically present in the Emirate. In addition, this indicator will make it possible to measure the market capitalization metaverses in the United Arab Emirates. It will therefore be a question of proving that they are able, or not, to compete with the largest world economies in terms of GDP.
Many cities in the United Arab Emirates could thus have their web 3 version in the metaverse. Sharjah is among the pioneers in this movement. Just like this dubai regulatory body who decided to settle in a pixelated universein the second quarter of this year.
